Roll around stand for Yong Heng Air Compressor and equipment

Hello everyone, I have designed and in the process of building a Roll Around Stand for my Yong Heng Air Compressor, the Tuxing Air Filter, a place to set an Air Tank or Gun to be filled and some Storage for supplies. Attached is a concept drawing and several photos showing what I have completed to date. As you can see I installed four swivel casters so that the whole unit can easily be moved. There will be brass fittings on the water tank to supply the cold water to the Compressor and a return line for the hot water. Also installed on the bottom of the water tank will be a valve to drain the water easily. I lined the inside of the water tank with rubberized bed liner paint to make it easier to keep clean, I also used the same paint on the bottom storage shelf. I will add more photos as soon as the unit is completed.

that looks pretty dang nice .. right now i have things 'consolidated' in various bedroom drawers .. not very organized at all .. i see some great possibilities with something like that ..

That looks very nice, the only thing I might suggest would be adding a drain valve to the side of the water tank.

Hello ThomasT, hadn't heard from you lately and was hoping someone hadn't pissed you off. Some guys can be pretty snippy, but they're a small minority. You, IMHO, are a good guy to have around. That cart is just plain awesome. I'm in process of setting up my new Yong Heng on 5 shelf Rubbermaid rack, next to laundry sink, in garage. Tuxing filter, vibration hour meter and HUSKY oil arrived yesterday. Going to use five gallon bucket of iced tap water in laundry sink for cooling. Daddyrabbit, Bio and Thatdarncat have been a great help to me, they're also a few good guys to have around. I'm completely blown away by your design and craftsmanship. My brain is working on a safe, secure gun mounting system for filling on top shelf. Maybe wood with gray foam pipe insulation. Let me know your design ideas for that.

I sure hope it works the way I designed it, it will make filling the tank and the rifle very easy. I then can unplug it, drain the water and roll it out of the way.

Thank you. Yes the wood "rack" with foam would work great. Another idea would be a rack made out of small pipe/tube/solid rod with a soft rubber hose material slipped over. I used some ( sorry cannot remember where I bought the hose ) white real soft hose about 3/4" OD with about a 3/8" ID over some aluminum round rod to make several gun racks on an ATV, they worked great.

Your cart could easily be placed next to a floor stand fan for additional cooling. You have a great design going there, I'm just a hint of green with envy!

The reason I suggested "White" rubber hose is because the white hose doesn't seems to effect any other material that comes in contact with it. I will try and find the source for that hose that I purchased and if I can will post a link.

Had not thought about a fan but that is a great idea. I had thought about freezing some water bottles and add them to the water as needed.

I have some silicone hose, like the stuff that came with compressor, just 3x larger. Used to work at plant that made medicine, it's leftover from that. A 12" or larger pedestal fan, just behind compressor would be like having the machine in a partial wind tunnel! I have 4 plastic freeze packs that fit in a cooler or lunch box, just think I'll throw those in water bucket. Bought a $21 Vibration Hour Meter (No screws, double tape) on Ebay. Using $6.99/16oz. synthetic blend HUSKY oil, for initial start up, then after one hour use change, I'll switch to $9.99/16oz. full synthetic HUSKY oil. Heard compressor takes 10 oz. oil.

Hey guys a couple of 2 liter bottles frozen in your deep freezer will work great. The larger the block of ice the longer it takes to melt.

This is not the company that I purchased my hose from but I am pretty sure it is the same tube/hose. However your silicone will most likely do the same job. Look at the bottom of the page for the 3/8" ID tube.

I have filled my tank just one time and did it in two stages and the bucket that I had the water in never got more than "just warm", and it was only 3-1/2 gallons. I think the 5-gallons with a fan on it and couple of frozen bottles will do the job.

We were just talking about that but on a smaller scale. No warmer than my water got I don't think a 2-liter would come close to melting completely. The first 2-liter could be removed at about half the run time and the second could then be put in the tank. Good idea, thanks.

Thanks, Brent, that's a good idea. I'll only be filling straight to gun and I hear that goes fast with Yong Heng. Think I'll freeze 2 liter bottle, just in case.

Hello everyone,

I think I will start buying Brass for my investment instead of Gold ( first photo ), that is $45 and change for that small pile. This will be for the bottom drain ( second photo ) and for the return warm water line ( third photo ). The store did not have a 1/4" brass bulkhead fitting so I made one using a 1/4" mpt x 1/4" hose barb fitting and a brass cap that I drilled a 1/4" hole in the top. Next up will be finishing the Stand Top.

Hello everyone,

Did a test run this morning and everything worked perfect. Very little ( almost none ) vibration when the Compressor was running and the cooling system worked great. I also got the Tuxing Filter installed and I believe that I can replace all the new filter material without having to remove the Filter from the stand.

Hello again everyone,

Got the Top completed. I put some vinyl material ( fake leather ) which is a marine grade and has a resistance to water and chemicals. All I will have to do to clean it is simply wipe it off with a wet rag. I can lay my gun on it to be charged and not worry about any harm to the gun or scope, I really like that and it looks good. Cannot do any more work on it until the other fittings come in which will be next week.

Hello everyone,

Received all the brass fittings to hook up all of the water lines so that part is now completed. I also received the Foster fittings needed to complete the high pressure air supply lines. I am short some of the Delrin / Acetal seals but @biohazardman gave me a source to purchase them so I can complete the unit.

The way that I have it set up, I can fill any gun direct or any supply cylinder very easy.
