Rifle not holding air

I own an fx boss, hadn't used it in over a year, went out with it today just to find out it wont hold air, first fill wouldn't go past 150, shot a magazine through it, after that, all air is escaping through fill valve. Any easy fixes or should i just buy a new fill valve? Thanks in advance.

Here's the diagram of the Boss. Air off the gun and unscrew the fill probe. Change the o-rings out and you should be good to go.

I don't get it,

I have 10 years old 500-600 bucks guns that never, ever leaked

How come I hear so often, really often of all kinds of guns leaking ? ...many of them high dollar guns.

Doesn't matter if its a $300 avenger or a $500 marauder or a $2200 impact. All pcp uses o rings to seal. In times, the o ring will wore out and air will bypass it. Its like living and dying. We will will die. It will happen. Its just a matter of when. You claim its 10 year old. So yeah, be lucky it lasted that long. Some of us have guns tha leak the first day. Lol

If that thing was completely drained of air after a year you can pretty much count on a complete reseal of the gun as those o rings are toast.

might be a great time to reseal the regulator, too

that is what I mean, I expect every PCP to eventually leak,......What -/+ 5 years is an accabtable time ? I think so.



what gets me is all those gun that leak after a short time of use

Sometimes the care or lack of during the assembly affects how long an o ring may last. All people eventually make mistakes which affects the lifespan of wear parts such as o rings. If you've not had a leak in five plus years you got a good one.

A very many people may disagree with me but that is why the first thing that I do when I get a new pcp is to take it right down and make sure it was put together right and no o-rings were damaged. I have never lost a pound in any of my guns.

My boss leaked from the same spot right out of the box, bought it brand new

Was never completely drained, i always kept it at the suggested "storage" pressure

I purchased the gun in 2015 i believe, haven't shot it much, but always kept up on maintenance, basic maintenance you could say, i know lubrication is key for o rings, have proper lube for them, had same issue with fill valve when i purchased it right out of the box

The issue i am having now is the same issue i had when i first purchased it, right out of the box, it was still under warranty of course, so they sent me a replacement valve, maybe lack of use is the issue now, always kept it clean though.
