Rifle for rabbits

Hi all,

This is my second post (the first one was in presentations) so I hope do it in the correct site.

I have little question that I hope you can help me to resolve, Do you know hoy many ft/lbs (julios) are enough to hunt a rabbits? is for shooting around 100 yards (90 meters)

I am looking for air rifle and I have seen three differents brands:

- Weihrauch HW100 FAC version.

- Air Arms S200 Sporter FAC

-Daystate: Air Wolf MTC

All of them in .22

Which one do you recommend to me and why?

Any of those can take a rabbit at 100 yards in .22 caliber......are we talking cottontails or jackrabbits? Cottontails are easily dispatched. Jackrabbits can be tough. All 3 rifles listed are nice rifles.....pick your poison. They all have the potential to be very accurate.

Could you tell us If you are limited to 12 foot pounds where you live?

I have an S200 in .22, tuned for about 16 foot pounds. I would not recommend it past 50 yards in my experience, though out to 50 yards it is very accurate as long as the bore is clean. With rabbits you should be able to get much closer than 100 yards with a little effort and stalking skill.

For 100 yards shotting i recomend you change to .25 caliber, is the most suitable for that distance. 
In .22 up to 70 yards i I would choose the HW100 FAC, wonderful rifle.

In my country you can have air rifle without special license if it is under 17.9 ft/lbs , but I can have one more powerful If I take this license. And know I am thinking seriously take it.

I will try be more closer to the rabbits but i like make long shotting too . I will use for rabbits, pigeons, squirrels ... control pest at the end.
