Retuning RAW HM1000X it's too loud

i purchased also a polygon barrel for my .25 HM1000X.... my reg is also at 145 bar... with the old barrel it waas shooting 940 fps with 25.4 gr jsb´s quiet as a cricket.22 shooting 30fpe.... i only changed the barrel, made no adjustments... and now its shooting the kings heavies 33.95gr at 875fps but its VERY LOUD!!!.....i had to swap moderators.... put my old barrel moderator to my new barrel and know its quiet as it was.... so i purchased a $500+ barrel with no baffles... thats ridiculous!!!!

I would contact Martin about that finding...

i purchased it on SPAWEAPONS..... i wrote to Ken and called RAW and they told me that my barrel is OK..... but i know its impossible that my old barrel is quieter than my new one.... i paid $500+ for it... theres is no baffles in it.... i sent some pictures to RAW and they didnt solve anything!!

That is unprofessional attitude on their end. I don't expect it from RAW.

This is what i recieved.....if you check, therer are no baffles....If you have the minimum knowledge of airguns, we all know that there is no way to silence a 60fpe rifle with a "suppressor" like this.......

Raw is a good company, but I understand that you purchased and pay for a new polygonal LW barrel with suppressor, but RAW delivered and you received the barrel but the suppressor is only an empty tube/pipe, that's not a suppressor is a fake. I think Raw must attend several cases about the same problem, I'm sure they will solve the problem because this compromise they good will.

The internals of that suppressor look like the other photos of all suppressors I've seen on RAW guns-nothing out of the ordinary from your photos. They do not come lined with felt, etc and do not have many internal baffles, etc. I believe it is a 'tuned' design. I'm trying to be honest about what I see from your photos-so please don't get upset with me about that-just being honest.

Now, having said all that, I don't think many would claim that the RAW suppressors are overly efficient in their ability to quiet down the muzzle report. That is why, paging through the 'RAW Report' thread, you will find MUCH enthusiam for people looking to have a DonnyFL fitted to their RAW (which can be done, BTW).

Moderators made by AZ, on the other hand are VERY efficient, as are the DonnyFL units.

I'm just trying to help clear up that you were not delivered a 'defective' product from RAW or SPAWeapons-these are how they come. The one aspect of RAW's that most of us don't 'rave' about is the efficiency of moderation. Sorry to break that news to you-I'm sure you expected better from a very expensive gun, so I understand your disappointment in that regard.

I'm going to go through the RAW Report thread and find the photos Pat posted of his disassembled RAW moderator and post a link here for you to view those photos as well. Stay tuned...

Respectfully,

I understand perfectly, I am a fan of RAW since I had the pleasure of firing my HM1000X for the first time, the strange thing is that the suppressor of my classic LW cannon that is designed to shoot at 47FPE (report is equal or lower than a cricket .22 shooting 32fpe, many people here knows how quiet is that cricket), is quieter than the gun that is designed to shoot at 60FPE (souds like a .22lr), I was in direct contact with RAW and they did not know how to explain, they just told me everything was fine and it was there when I decided

Thank you for the good update. Can you post photos of what the baffles look like? Did the come from a different RAW barrel or from a different gun altogether? I guess I’m a little confused.

Thanks,

Sean

This is the picture of my original LW .25 barrel suppressor..... this one have baffles.... now you can compare this suppressor to my new "suppressor" on my polygon barel!!

Interesting-thank you for sharing the photos. I also have both barrels (.25 cal LW ‘rifled’ and .25 cal polygon). Do the end caps just pull straight off the end? Maybe I will pull mine apart to see the differences also? I would like to follow Umair’s lead on improving the design. Or perhaps follow your lead by swapping parts...

Anyone know a good iphone app for measuring sound levels?
