Should a restrictor screw be installed in the fill hose to prevent sudden burst or overfill from opening valve too far or too quickly? If you do install it, does it bottom out in the foster fitting?

A restrictor screw or bushing is a good way to stop from over filling your small cc tubed gun as well as generate less heat which can damage o-rings. Some tanks fill valves are difficult to control and a restrictor is a good idea in this case. The better quality quality fill valves are easy to control so really don't need them. Still others have them built in and it can take a couple of minutes to fill your gun.
Can't give you the size of orifice or OD of the bushing or screw but the hole is a tiny one for sure.
