Tuning Reseal FX Crown

I bought a brand new Crown about three years ago. I absolutely love it. I have two barrel kits, .25 and .30. Never had any problems until now. Apparently it has a slow leak somewhere. It will leak down to about 100 bar and then seems to stop. I never fill it over 250 bar. Question is, send it out to have it resealed? Or order the 25 seal kit and do it yourself. I’m almost scared to attempt it. And who would you recommend to do the work if I decide to go that route. Thanks in advance.

There are some great YT videos, especially from Ernest that will show you how to troubleshoot the leak and fix it yourself. Fortunately for you the Crown is one of the easier ones to work on. For one thing the regulator, if that's the problem is a lot easier to remove and reseal than say an Impact. If you plan on keeping the gun, it's better to take it on yourself and see how it's all put together because more than likely the same problem or another will pop up. It's just the nature of the beast. You can also go to the schematic of your crown, make a list of possible o-rings and order some. They are really cheap from O-rings and More.

Resealing a Crown is tricky the first time you do it, but after that first time it's easy. You should go to the parts diagram on the FX web site and write down the physical size, type, Durometer hardness and part number of every O ring used in the gun as well as the Teflon gauge washers. Then order a bunch of every size. You will break or damage a few. Be prepared. They are really inexpensive. You will need O ring tools like different size picks. Order them as well. Also keep Silicon oil and Silicon grease for the O rings. Never use petroleum oil or grease on rubber! You will also need 3M polishing cloth as described on Youtube videos for the regulator.

This exercise should be done for every air gun you own. This is normal maintenance and you will be doing this on a regular basis.

What's your best source for the O rings?

I buy mine from a commercial Industrial Supply house in Maastricht, NL called the Rubber House. They can supply most everything I have asked for. The problem of using an industrial supply house typically is minimum quantity. Could be as high as 100 depending on size, but they are cheap enough.
