What is the name of the type of foam used in the form fitted lower half of the FX hard case?

I believe it is polyethylene or PE foam often referred to as closed foam.

It looks like 3M77 spray glue is recommended for the open and closed cell foam.

May be more expensive compared to just buy this Kind that the LCS SK19 comes in with FREE shipping.

Gotta say that I love my old FX case with the cutouts in the closed cell foam and the latches they had on them. The new stuff like my LCS case has with the open cell egg crate foam and Velcro strap really suck in comparison.

Do a search for Negrini ,I believe they made the cases for FX

Yes, but it works. I notice the closed cell foam used for pipe insulation is the same as what is on the bottom side of FX cases.

Source of replacement foam, Carolina custom foam. I have bought replacement foam for Plano cases with good results. db
