Rephrased: Scaring off deer off of property

Heck, My Red Rider won't penetrate a soda can past 20 yards. If you're that close you could yell a them. I'm thinking if you could even hit a deer beyond 30 it may turn and look at you. Just the noise would scare it more. I've hit nesting sparrows around the house and had them fly away and return later.

I'm not sure if you were asking a question in original post, but shooting at them with a BB gun will not prevent them from coming back. In fact, you can smack them on the rear-end with a switch cut from a Cherry tree and they will still return to the food source eventually. Pretty much a losing game unless you have guard patrol at your garden 24/7. Save your BB's for shooting tin cans.

We had plenty of BB gun fights as kids. No airsoft back then. Only rule was no shooting in face and the boys with pump guns were only allowed one pump. Fortunately, no eyes were lost. How times change..

I know, but the problem was that our fence was broken because a tree fell on it. Now it’s fixed and are not coming back
