N/A Repairing a 78g grip. DIY

What is needed.
1. Epoxy clay
2. Rubber gloves
3. Plastic wrap
4. Fordom flex shaft or dremal. For cleaning up and sanding.
5. Paint

Mix epoxy clay per directions using rubber gloves. Cover anything you don't want clay to bond to with plastic wrap. Form clay to your project. Let cure for at least 24 hours. They epoxy clay will bond with the existing grip. Clean up and sand imperfections and you then can paint.

You could actually make a custom set of grips for almost any pistol using this. It's pretty amazing stuff.

Still need a little touch up sanding then I'll match color and paint it.

you really have no choice at this time
over the last 10 years i have seen few to none for sale VA was making them but not at this time
There was a pair on ebay a few weeks ago, but I'm not paying $100 for a set. I've found that patience is truly golden if your into vintage airguns. At some point a pair of grips will come along. I can wait, and keep looking.

the pistols are old and the plastic is at the end of it's life and without reproduction being made and or another grip maker setting up shop
when Ralph Brown died back, what now 5 years or more ago we lost the man that kept us in wood grips at a very low price and of course there are many grip makers for the 2240 but those are simple the compared to the S&W 78-79G pistols and RB made them and as of late so did V Austin now we are back to none really at a fair price

a couple of VA grips
