Removing carbon fiber barrel sleeve???

I'm just curious if anyone out there has ever attempted to remove the carbon fiber barrel sleeve from a Walther LG300/400?

My suspicion is the sleeve is glued all the way down and it would take a destructive method to remove. If it were aluminum, I'd just apply heat and work it up til it came loose. But I don't see any way to apply heat in this case.

I'm interested in removing the sleeve on my LG400FT for a couple of reasons. First, I would just prefer a black carbon fiber sleeve.

But second, I can put a very slightly smaller OD sleeve on, allowing better free floating g through the barrel band. The current factory sleeve is pretty tight in this area.

I know it's a long shot, but if you think you almighty have some input, I'd live to hear it.

While NOT that specific gun ... have removed CF stiffening tubes successfully many times. WEAR A DUST MASK & EYE PROTECTION !!!!!

With said barrel in hand & off the receiver, had *noted where 6:00 / bottom was prior, Then carefully on a 1" bench belt sander started making end to end passes creating a flat in the CF tube. As you watch carefully what your doing making sure this sanded down flat stays as even as you can, keep at it until you see the color start changing as CF thins out to inside wall / adhesive layer. Try not to take it so far as your hitting the steel barrel beneath, but damn close !!!
* This being on bottom is in case your never replacing said removed sleeve and if you scar the barrel OD at all, it's between air tube/bottle and barrel where it won't be seen.

Then using an xacto blade carefully go down the middle of the ground flat & sever best you can any remaining attachment fibers bridging either side.
Once there take a heat gun or propane torch and heat up the C/F tube, now that tube is stress relieved due to the flat created, it should freely snap free and slide off easily.
