Regulated Wolverine .25 B-Lite

Took the Altaros reg off awhile back due to slow leak. Got a new nylon spacer from Alatros , found that was the problem. So I put it back on & like a dummy, I used the factory fill fitting to fill it. As soon as I realized what I done, drained air & refilled. It fills ok, but drifts back some before I release the fill hose & then I top it again & it holds. It never did this before, probably something I caused due to filling the wrong fill. Other than that is working fine and holding air, no leaks. I had it shooting in the 900s before I took it off, but decided to take it down a little. I got it in the 880s and it is very consistent & a lil more accurate. Well anyway, I shot several groups over the chrony and with 3700 psi fill ( I would not fill a non regulated Wolverine this much) , 25 grain jsb , 45 shots , High 889,Low 875, AV 895, ES 14, SD 2. If you remove the 875 shot, it is really good at, H 889, L 881, AV 883, ES 8 , SD 2. This was with the 24 inch barrel, not 17" factory. I don't think this reg would work with the 17" factory barrel, velocity would be to low. You would need volume somehow.

That's odd. I mean when looking from the rear of the receiver forward. It took me awhile to figure out what tool fit the adjusting screw head . As you know you can't see it. I kept trying different hex wrenches & nothing fit. Finally I tried a tiny slotted screw driver and that fit. Mine has a set screw to keep the adjusting screw from moving. If I ever get satisfied with a setting I am going to loctite that with easy break loctite. On mine you need to keep bolt up when you insert screwdriver or you will damage safety spring. I guess you could take safety off, but I just raise bolt handle up and insert screwdriver. Would be nice when one buys a 2000 dollar rifle if is came with some info like that. Maybe they think they know what ft pounds is best for us amateurs.

PS what is your shot strings?

My hammer also has a set screw to keep the hammer throw screw from backing off. As for my shot strings, I was only able to achieve 890fps with the JSB 25.34g but my shot count was suffering. That’s why I asked you if you had played with your Hammer spring and I also meant the hammer throw screw to. I currently have the gun setup without the regulator, but I also have it posted for sale in the classifieds but it is tempting to dig her back out and play around with the reg a little more to finally achieve that optimal shot count and energy I’ve been chasing for so long.
