regulated marauder pistol

Actually, I just tuned mine with a Huma regulator set at 110 BAR, stock hammer spring and a Hill .140" replacement transfer port (no drilling) and got 680-700fps using Crosman HP (14.3 grains) for 15FPE at the muzzle. I got 20 usable shots with a 3000psi fill and 24 shots with a 3400psi overfill. The regulator makes an overfill possible without locking the valve closed which is cool.

Mod edit: removed clandestine ad and link to outside listing.

Don't they usually run in the $500 range used all duked up like that?

I honestly don't know how much these things cost, but I am willing to take a $300 hit to sell $1180 in hardware for $880. I think I did a pretty good job with all the upgrades so it has a couple hundred bucks of free labor to tune it up too. The shot string velocities are pretty stable.

I have a prod and a 1720T both without regs but tuned with the bstay(sp?) method. The 1720 is around 12 ftlb and the prod is about 6 ftlb. Both are consistent and accurate.

The prod is about as quite as you can get a pcp and with in the 50 yards of my backyard is great at pesting. I actually just got a ground squirrel with it yesterday afternoon at 40 yards.

Not trying to talk you out of adding a reg but it might be worth adding the orings and see if it does what you are looking for before buying one.

I forget if I have three or four orings. I started with the hammer backed all the way out where it wouldn’t hit the valve and slowly turned it in until it was at the power I wanted. I could hear that it wasn’t getting any bounce. You can actually hear that it’s in balance.

I have a 1701, 1720, and a P-Rod. They are nice! I have to keep reminding myself when dressing them up that they are what they are. I can sink way too much in time and money in them to fit into my program.

@wildcj5 did you buy or make your but stock? Is it an aluminum tube? I thought about making one out of steel conduit but wonder if I would be wasting time. It may be too heavy.

I am with @raden I would love to have a 1720 multi shot.

I made it. The plate it aluminum, the pipe and end fittings are brass.

The part that threads to the pistol is a brass end cap with a hole in it and a bolt. Put together with jbweld. I forget what length bolt but if it’s too long it will bottom out on the pistol.

The butt end is another cap drilled with a nut held in also with jbweld. The nut is three times the length of a regular nut. Not sure what they are called but they sell them at Lowe’s or hd in the hardware section.

The butt plate is just aluminum attached to the rod with an Allen bolt.

God I wish crosman made a 177 marauder pistol. A multishot 1701 would be epic. Cool gun btw 880 is a bit too rich for my blood Gluck.

Hence the PP750 to pick up where Crosman missed out on that opportunity?

I went back and forth with getting a PRod. I'm glad I didn't because I think the PP750 will fill my needs.

Time will tell when I receive it.
