Regulated Armada .25 (40 shot string results)

It's a good start all right! VERY impressive! I'm guessing you've done other work/mods beside just the regulator? Go easy on me I'm pretty new to PCPs but I do have a .25 Synrod. I'm getting about 30 shots at an average of 830 w/JSB Kings. I don't remember the ES but it's pretty decent. The only thing done to it (besides straightening the lawyer spring) is just the normal tuning adjustments.

Thanks!
Ed

Yes a few other mods;
  • Hill Valve w/light poppet spring
  • OEM size main tube used (no reservoir used).
  • The armada is using an SSG along with the regulator.
  • 19g Nylon MD light weight hammer I made, (my OEM hammer weighed in at 73g for comparison) .
  • Out of the four different hammers I made, the 19g gives the best performance for my .25 and setup.
  • On that string above, the TP (transfer port) was opened up to .159" (Tonight I have opened it more to .162, need to shoot a string).

From a 3k psi fill I'm getting the same 40-41fpe for 32 shots before it falls off the reg 1.06%es

"OldCorps"Obviously very well done!

AJ, as I type this I'mm reassembling it now..... (had to wait until my daughters went to sleep before I can play in the shop).

Yes & no, I matched the barrel port & the TP to .162".
The outlet of the hill valve is already .180"!!
So if the string I'm about to shoot isn't very impressive....then I still have room to go larger.
Just not sure where it becomes a diminishing return.

Lots of variables, but your string already looks great!! Getting the utmost usually comes,at the expense of trial and error. I have always been a fan of matched ports. I do sometimes run large valves and barrel ports, but restrict the tp with success.

I did find that when everything gets large, sometimes the only way to drop velocity is reg pressure. I did a regged .177 that had somewhere around .160 matched ports. The only way I could get the velocity down to a usable 900fps with those ports was to drop the regulator pressure down to something like 70bar. So, yes, you can go too far but to push the envelope in search of max performance, usually results in going too far at some point.

I have sold off most of my regged guns, but really like what you are doing!! Keep the info coming and best of luck in your endeavors!!

Ok...looks like it tightened up the ES a little while on reg.
If I cut it off at 5 magazines/40 shots, that gives me a 1.64%es (not complaining).
