Regulate Brocock Bantam Hilite?

First off, I was very interested I purchasing a Brocock Bantam Sniper HR but had a heard time pulling the trigger due to the cost. I just picked up a 22 cal Brocock Bantam Hilite on the forum and would like to turn it into the Sniper HR. For those with experience with these guns:

1) With the slingshot valve system, is it worth adding a regulator the gun?

2) What regulators would you recommend? I saw altros sells a regulator.

3) What regulator pressures did you try and what were the results?

Thanks Gentlemen!

As one who has had his fair share of regulated PCPs, and consequently my fair share of regulator ISSUES, I purchased a Bantam HiLite specifically because it isn't regulated, and I wanted to see if the incredibly logical-sounding Slingshot hammer/valve set-up worked as well as hyped. I also chose .22 caliber as (in my mind and opinion) the silver-slipper caliber for the HiLite platform. Happy to report I was right on both counts!

Mine isn't quite as powerful as advertised, producing 29 foot-pounds average. However I'm not anxious to monkey with it considering I'm getting more VERY CONSISTENT shots per charge than advertised (makes sense considering the power shortfall). From an optimum 235 BAR fill I'm getting 65 regulated-consistency shots with 18.1 grain JSBs.

Low= 835, Hi= 862, ES=27, SD=4, Average= 852 FPS / 29.0 foot-pounds.

It's also very accurate, consistently averaging .50" to .65" c-t-c five-shot groups at 50 yards with 18.1 JSBs and 16 grain Air Arms pellets. That's phenomenal accuracy and consistency from a short, light, handy carbine! So to answer your question, NO, it's not worth adding a regulator.

I have the .25 cal and once it gets back from AoA and I actually get a chance to shot it a few times, I'll be adding the Altaros regulator to it. The .25 cal doesn't come with the Slignshot system.

But for what I paid for the rifle and the $150 for the reg, I'll be well below that of the Sniper. Will it work just as well? I have no idea.

I too have the Bantam Hi Lite in .22. I love it, the gun is accurate, I get a high shot count and everything is great with the gun. I would love to see if it can be better though. After the Sniper came out, I heard rumors of Huma making a similar regulator for the Bantam HiLite. I e-mailed about 3 months ago, maybe more and they told me that they are indeed going to release the regulator for about $85. I have called twice since my initial contact and they told me "soon" both times. I don't know when it's coming out, but when it does, why not give it a try for $85? If you don't like it, stop using it, but it could give you a better shot count and even more consistency? Stoti

$85 would be a great option. Please update when you hear back from them. I'd be very interested in playing with it. Not a big risk to tinker and maybe improve a good rifle.
