Regional air supply cooperatives?

It was the "when I grow up" comment by @intenseaty22 here that both made me laugh out loud but also got me wondering if anyone has ever tried forming a co-op among airgunners in a geographic region.

If 10 or 12 airgunners pooled the same amount of $$ that it takes to buy a Yong Heng, they could pretty much afford one of these Nardi compressors:

Certainly the devil is in the details regarding where it would be stored, how access could be granted, how far away someone could be from it, etc... but if you were in an active enough area with enough airgunners, I think this would work.

Thoughts?

I actually sent a fairly detailed email a year or so ago to Crosman and Air Venturi / PA "encouraging" them to try a pilot plan with local rod and gun clubs to try to "seed" interest in airguns. The big barrier in the PCP realm is the cost and trouble of HPA. My suggestion was to to donate or sell at cost air compressors to a few clubs to see if that can help evangelize firearms owners to come to the DarkSide. I never heard back from either of them...

This sounds just like a "time share" if you will of say.....a biz jet/cement mixer (I was in one of those) sail boat etc. The difference being the compressor would most likely be permanently based in one location. I agree with Mcoulter that a club based group would be the best way to start. SUPER idea someone in a larger metro area with more air gunners

should jump on !!
