Thoughts on refinishing a laminated stock with a few dents and blemishes? Satin finish now might want a clear finish?

I've refinished many stocks before, but never a Lami.
I've seen a few other members re-finish RAW stocks and it looked pretty straight forward. I would handle it similar to any good hardwood (NOT Beach) where you don't need to worry about irregular coloration.
I'm very much a believer in Non-Gloss finishes on guns. I wouldn't try to add any additional color unless you really don't like the color of the Lami.
Dents can likely be steamed out or definitely sanded out, but be careful with the steam as it could bleed out color?

It’s actually a RAW stock! Love the color just want to freshen it up, and possibly do a gloss finish?
