RedWolf shroud.

In the RedWolf handbook I received with the gun is a parts assembly page. Some of the parts for the shroud have an asterix beside the number. I presume some parts are the standard model and some the hp model. Can someone explain which parts are which? There seems to be 2 airstipers part 24&27? 

Would appreciate a picture of what’s under the shroud on a .22hp if possible. Happy to give accuracy if someone could oblige(not much incentive I know....)Thanks Michael

Hey Michael, I have 22hp and can tell you that #24 is for the hp. In fact, all of the parts with the asterisks are the HP.

Thanks Carl. So what holds part #24 to the barrel? Mine is threaded but apparently the US version isn’t. Does yours also have 1/2 unf tread?

When I removed my barrel, I left part #24 (air stripper) on... gave it a twist, it didn't budge. I'll pull the shroud off and take a couple pics in 5mins.

Not sure if the air stripper is threaded or not... most likely, it is, and has lock-tite on it. Can't imagine that it would be a press fit.

The shroud has a 1/2 unf adaptor. It was difficult to remove the Huggett with all the glue on the threads.

Nah, don't think so... when I ordered mine from AoA, they asked if I wanted to add the Huggett for 100 bucks.

How is the shroud removed from the receiver?

It just slides over and has 2 grub screws that go through 2 small holes in the cf shroud. You can see one in this photo. 

Its means the moderator isn't attached to the muzzle of the barrel. It's just supported by the shroud.

The muzzle end of the shroud is supported by an oring that goes around part # *24. The fit between shroud and *24 oring is snug (offers resistance as the shroud is slipped off the gun or re-installed). 

BTW:a 12 mm thread is different than 1/2-20 UNF, I think. I assume they are close but may not be a match since 12 mm is .472 inches. I can't swear to it either way however.

Has anyone removed part *24? Did it take a heat gun or gas fueled torch and what else if so? I'm especially curious about level of effort to make it happen.

Jeez... I feel so sorry for so many Europeans and you folks in "Oz". (I probably should add California, New York, Hawaii, and a bit more to that list). The governance that you folks have over you is a travesty. And I am very sympathetic for you.

We who still enjoy some reasonable freedoms in the many states need to VOTE TO STAY FREE in November! THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT!!!



There are forces at work trying to strip us of many of our air gun freedoms, not to mention powder burner freedoms!

It’s actually not to bad. Unless you do something silly and draw attention to yourself you’re left to do your thing. The no sound moderation is the only law that I’d like to see changed. I think if the general public understood a little better we would get that law changed. 

Apart from that the laws here don’t inhibit my pleasure of the sport at all.
