I have a RW Safari .22 HP and I currently shoot both JSB 25g redesigns and JSB 25g Knock Outs at both 50 and 100 yards for bench rest paper target shooting. I have not tried heavier slugs, and I am wondering if anyone has had some good success with heavier slugs greater than 25g. I do not have the Programmer and my Safari shoots the RDs at 970 FPS and the KO's in the 945 FPS range, using the "medium" power setting.
My specific question/curiosity is whether or not anyone has used slugs with this platform in the "30-40G" weight range, presumably using my High Power setting. Why - because I think the heavier slug 'may' buck the wind better than either the RDs or the KO's.
Any help or experience using heavier slugs in the .22 HP platform for RW is appreciated.
