RedWolf returning today after shipping repairs!

Too bad about the shipping damage delaying the enjoyment of your new RW. But it seems to be an almost common occurrence any more.

They really are incredible guns. I bought a used Heliboard off the classifieds to try out, and see what all the talk is about. But I have yet to install it - The care and effort Daystate puts into the tuning of these guns before boxing them up and shipping them out really shows. The OEM power levels are virtually perfect for my needs!

Congrats, and enjoy your March Christmas present!

The factory tune on mine was a little hot, shot the JSB 18 around 930. I had it adjusted, and now it shoots the JSB 18 around 890 on H, and very accurate. On L, it shoots the 16 around 750, which makes a great yard plinker and pester. The tunes seem to vary between rifles bit more than I expected, at least that was my perception a couple of years ago. Of course, it's a guess as to what power levels will suit any given owner. But, at standard power levels, I believe three choices will suit most owners.

If the shipping damage is common, they should (if they haven't already) put them in better shipping packages.

I purchased a gun with a mounted scope a few months ago that was enclosed in a form fitting foam filed box with ample margin. I was pretty impressed even though the result looked rather garage shopish...who cares, it protected the gun and scope, and I can reuse it if I ever need to ship it back.

That Daystate Red Wolf is something I have my eye on...the finish of the laminate is beautiful.

The only way you will be able to account for shipper brutality / incompetence, and i am talking the very least here, would be to ship the rifle in a decent hard case with extra padding inside the case.

I have seen well packaged items been compacted to a level where the cardboard box look like a accordion bellow, and in that case good packaging just do not suffice.

I pay +4 X the cost in gasoline ( normal gas prices ) to go to the store to pick up VS having a rifle shipped to me, shipping agencies i have ranked at the same very low level as politicians and used car dealers, so absolutely no trust.

A cheap hard case is not all that expensive and if we all used them buying and selling assuming we do about as much of one as the other it would add little to the shipping costs over all. If you compared the cost of double boxing ( which is the minimum ) to a hard case and one box I’ll bet there isn’t $20 difference . If you are like me you have too many gun cases as it is. Put cable ties around the case or thru the lock holes as well. FX uses hard cases or at least the guns I’ve bought came in them .
