RedWolf HP 22cal and slugs

So last week I gave some 27gr Nielson slugs a try. It was very windy gusting to 20mph out of the 7 O'Clock my RW HP in 22cal was sighted in for 25gr JSBs Redesign pellets at 100 yards. My very first slug was sent at a starling that landed on the 100 yard sight in tree out back. Held on the left side of the birds head and watched it fall. All I can say is these slugs work and buck the wind very well. The JSBs required 1.5 mil hold for wind. I am getting 890fps with the 27gr .217 dia slugs. They are amazing to say the least, next will be a programmer to get them up to mid 900fps. Just wanted to share for those RW owners out there thinking of trying slugs.

27g Nielsen you say? interesting as we tried 26g VK with no success!

Do you have any pics of groups?

RW HP at 100yards today with 25g Monsters doing 974 FPS.

Twist. I think that the 17.7 twist is too slow for slugs.

I will post some groups when I get a calm day. Testing pellets on paper with high winds does nobody justice. As for the "I think" comment, I dont like to live in that space. My post what what I seen from 100 slugs in a shooting session in very difficult conditions. Less hold for wind and no adjustments to my turrets with 1.5 more grains of lead. Only surprise was the lack of explosive response on feathered targets. Just went right thru and they drop, no big feather pillow effect. Probably due to lack of FPS but dead is dead.
