Reducing maurader weight

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has weighed both the wood and synthetic stocks to see how much of a difference there is. I was thinking of selling my wood stock and buying a synthetic. Also if anyone has tried one of the aluminum air tubes (I think maybe Jefferson State may make them) I was wondering if there was a significant difference in weight vs the original.

Thanks, Charlie

havent weighed them but the synthetic is alot lighter .. when i bought my marauder it was 'pre' synthetic days and people were hacking the crp out of their wood stocks to lighten them, ive never got around to getting one, the prod kindof supplanted the rifle around here as my pesting rig of choice .. i still grab the .25 big boy now and then though for larger stuff like 'that thing' i nailed by the coop the other day ... still wish i had a synthetic .. the tank i dont see as cost effective myself .. a lighter optic might be an option to depending on what you do with it .. for pesting you dont need a 5lb scope you can see a gnat on mars with lol ...

If I remember correctly, about 10 oz. difference from wood to synthetic

The JSAR aluminum air tube,if they still make it, knocks a legitimate 1.5 pounds off the Marauder’s weight. That combined with the synthetic stock make a considerable weight difference.

I don’t know if they worked out the QC issues that the first JSAR tubes experienced. The internal diameter seemed be oversized on some tubes and would not seal up correctly. I had a heck of a time getting the o rings to seal up in mine, but they eventually did.

the aluminum tube !!!! not only a lot lighter but its also where the weight is not , the balance of the gun completely changes with out holding up all that steel way out front. i did my mrod , you also need a nylon hammer for the new tube, while your in there , maybe a tim hill spring lightest one for hammer and valve and few other things (reg ) ? larger transfer port , drill n ball hone for barrel transfer port , all stuff that works good , or shoot your gun as is ! heavy guns are easy to shoot accurate ! enjoy your mrod !!!

I thought about this regarding my Armada which has the same action than the Marauder and is useless but for bench rest. The problem is that when you add the costs of the different parts + shipping (overseas in my case since getting Crosman parts in EU in difficult), in the end a new gun maybe a better solution. I would live in the US I would buy the synthetic stock, it is affordable and the weight loss is significant.
