Tuning Red wolf with index pin magazine

Hi, Can the index pin system be removed below breech base plate? Then replace original base plate. A Carm or new style DS magazine can then be used.

Would leave a tiny hole where pin rises but do not think that matters, Or fill hole? Opinions please

You need the plug made for that purpose.

Ok why though,remove base plate, piston,spring, o ring and pin.replace base plate

You would have air escaping through the hole with each shot, unless the plug is there.

 That may be only a slight nuisance, try it and see.

It would be a good amount of air escaping. It's possible to replace the spring with a collar of the right length to keep the pin from moving . The plug is just to prevent air waste... or puff to the face. I put a tiny ball bearing on the top of a broken pin on mine to keep it from moving.

So plate merely stops the puff. But surely the air ducted is just adequate to move the pin. Not continuous. Why would it use more air? On the latest version thought air duct was still there but programmed not to puff? Or does it still puff ?

Maybe introduce a scent to the fill next time, Bacon anyone or curry?

That feature uses excess air, so even if you let the air escape it wouldn't affect the guns performance. But it would be annoying.

I cut the bolt/probe side arm off my magazines. Works fine. (old style mag.) I forget now where I heard/saw it,... but a fellow put his finger on top of that pin and fired the rifle. He put a hole in his finger! So,... I would guess that the pin comes up with a bit more than a "puff" of air.

Hi Update

Dealer reduced pin length so it cannot rise and contact magazine. Works perfectly for Carm magazines and single shot trays both Carm and Daystate. No air noise issue.

Just remember, although shorter, the pin is still being activated with each shot, and still subject to break. I think AOA would probably give you the plug kit, so, at some point, might as well fix it right.
