I was thinking about getting a Red Wolf in .22cal and was looking at the HP version. What is the difference between the HP and the Safari? All I can see is the fps, the stock and the price.
Not sure if the current HP is different but mine and several others I've shot were gen 1 boards and the Safari is the gen 2. Mine struggled to get 970 w 25.4s so I ran it about 930 to 940 with pretty good results. Still running the original barrel but acquired a gen 2 board for testing other calibers and had to turn it WAY down to run 980 with the 25.4s. BIG difference in power capabilities ... but like I said .... I'm not sure of the current HP equipage. Ask AOA if it's important. The barrels are the same... LW poly's .... and mostly seem EXTREMELY good w the 25.4s. I tend to like my walnut stock on my HP more, so that's what I shoot the most.
I really believe most would be more than happy with the HP unless the stock is a big deal.

Hp is 50 fpe, safari has upgraded electronics so its 65 fpe and safari has a r t approved barrel. I would skip the safari for the added cost since you cant buy a programmer. I would wait for Deltawolf but as you know its going to a long wait to Canada. .22 hp sure is a nice rifle.
Does anyone know if the safari stock is walnut with the etching done to the walnut? Cause I really love that stock!!!
