Red wolf bottle touching shroud?

Can someone post some pics of their red wolfs and bottle/shroud clearance please. When my gun is resting on stock, you can't get a piece of paper between shroud and bottle. I am afraid this is going to cause accuracy issues. If you tap bottom of stock you can hear shroud vibrating off bottle for a second or two.

Bottle and shroud should not touch. I measured a clearance of .046" (1.8 mm). Pictures to follow.

2 possible cause:

1: bottle out of round, rotate bottle CCW and look if bottle clear the shroud within one turn and touch again. Or remove bottle and roll on even surfaces You will see right away.

2: barrel droop, turn gun upside down in horizontal position if bottle no longer touch the barrel, loosen barrel mounting screw and retighten starting from the rear screw 1st. If still touching bottle loosen barrel screw and rotate barrel till TP At 12 oclock tighten barrel screw if no change you my have an action barrel bore off center, if you have a friend that has a RW try fitting his barrel and bottle on your RW if bottle still touching talk to your dealer. Free floating barrels are not ment to touch the bottle if so you will have accuracy issues and a eye sore.

I wouldn't remove the bottle from the gun and certainly don't swap the bottle, Redwolfs are mapped with the bottle as a matched unit, the electronics will not be correct if you do this.

I would suggest the shroud would be the thing to muck around with at first.

Please, there’s no sensors on bottle and barrel, just going to test fit for clearance and the shroud. No neet to test fire and no need to power up the board. by rotating the stock barrel the shroud and air stripper will be tested for alignment.

The barrel and shroud can't be rotated on a Red wolf. Port is drilled into the barrel. You might loosen the mounting screw to see if the stock is pressuring the bottle. If not I'd give AOA a call. The shroud should not touch the barrel.

The barrel can be rotated just to see if the barrel is bent thats all — just a troubleshooting procedure!!! 



Never know could have been damage during shipping— seen a lot of that !

Not touching on my RW .22HP. Even clearance from the shroud along the length of the bottle.

Barrel is good, same clearance in any rotated position. My bottle just has a higher spot in one area.

AOA has a video on the removal of the barrel on the Wolverine

you should try to loosen your barrel and then tighten the rear set

screw first and them lightly tighten the front one . This is the correct

way that the video talks about . Just a thought , good luck .
