red dot type sight

Going to be difficult to impossible to find a 1MOA red dot without spending some serious cash. I would ask what is it about the red dot that you find appealing? Is this on a rifle or a pistol? Reason I ask is that for rifles, I've compromised by using an LPVO. I can keep it set to 1x and use just like a red dot in that I get that very fast target acquisition and can keep both eyes open. In particular if the LPVO has a lighted dot or tiny crosshair in the middle and then can turn up the power a bit if I want or need the magnification.

it is on a pistol PP700 SA , i will look up LPVO . EDIT just looked and no long eye relief that i found so far . To me a pistol should be held at arms length . This idea of a rifle scope and holding a pistol up to ones face is not shooting a pistol , it is a small rifle at that point .

ah... I've never been a fan of a scope on a pistol, but some folks love them. Are you going to be at the Hickory show this year? I can send you a spare LPVO to try out if you'd like and you can get it back to me at Hickory. At least could give you an idea on if you'd like to spend your coin for one. Just let me know.

right. Hence my dislike for scopes on pistols. Even EER ones doesnt seem 'right' to me. Anyway, threw out the offer. Will see you at Hickory!
Another option for a red dot that may suit you is a Holosun with the ACSS reticle. That reticle has a chevron rather than a dot. Can be very precise with it.

If you can live with big and heavy take a look at this one. Great price. It's for a rifle but I tried it on one of my HW44's. Almost kept it, but decided I'd rather have a 2 moa than this larger heavier 1 moa. I've owned Votatu's in the past and they always worked well for me. They're also available on Amazon

Take a look at the Holosun 507 Comp. They are doing a horrible job advertising an otherwise unique reticle as I had to dig to find a picture. It can be switched from a 2MOA dot to any of the ring sizes so you can surround your Target rather than obscure it. I’ll also mention that having the brightness too high can cause bloom that makes the dot look much larger than advertised on any dot optic like these.

Thanks, but even on the lowest brightness setting the 2 MOA dot obscures the target by 4x
