Recommendation needed: Travel insurance for guns

Hey there everyone, next Sunday after I check them in I am entrusting KLM to take care of my babies on their way to USA then Delta. I am figure I am shipping around $4000 in equipment with me Taipan Compact and Leshiy 2.

My AMEX travel insurance covers $2000 for luggage damage, so one gun, not including scope which will com onboard the plane with me. So I am looking for some cheap insurance to cover the rest. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for any recommendations.

Call your local insurance agent for a 'rider' policy that may cover your belongings, and purchase it directly from them. That is a binding contract at that point with agreed values and payment rendered for the policy.

On another subject concerning airline luggage: something I read years ago was that airline workers treat stowable luggage very differently. Obvious gun cases get treated very badly, but they treat golf club cases gingerly well. This is probably due to them wanting to spill contents of one versus the other, being political, or not wanting the "rich" golfer-type to complain to management and cost them their job. So, a double golf club hard case might be a better investment in "camouflage" security. Also, check them as "firearms" so the process goes smoothly. "Airguns" do not get the same treatment

Ask your current agent to “schedule” all items you want to insure on your existing homeowners or renters policy. The correct term(s) for a stand-alone policy for items such as jewelry, firearms (airguns), art, etc., would be “floater”, or “inland marine”.

I would schedule (specifically listed on the policy) anything of mine valued over $1,000.

This is the only thread I could find about traveling with air rifle and insurance.
Since it's about two years old, wondering if there's any new information out there. For now, I think homeowner insurance only covers $2,500 to $5000 for fire arms (I don't know if that amount changes if you inventory every air gun/ air gun related items)
Or
An insurance agent that can give us some insight?

I'm planning to fly Southwest with my air rifle...How do I protect my air rifle from theft and/or damage during travel? (other than with a sturdy gun case as suggested above)

Does the NRA offer any gun insurance?
