I just wanted to make sure anyone currently looking for a great Budget Hunter Field Target Scope knows about the Athlon Argos 6-24x50 First Focal Plain Scope. I've had mine now for a year. I've used it as my entry to HFT on a Air Arms TX200 MKII .177 Springer. Every time I compete my score gets better and better. I added a custom Parallax Wheel (from Bill Rabitt) and a rubber eye cup extension to complete the package. I shoot JSB Exact 8.44 gr pellets. Today I see on Amazon this scope is listed for as low as under $379.00 to $314.00 with free shipping. I have no idea who else has discounted this scope but I bet many have or would. This scope sees practice almost every day without any signs of failing. The glass is good. The cross-hairs are good. What else does anyone need in an entry level FFP HFT scope? My only complaint is the illuminated reticle is not very bright which I hardly ever use. If you in the market I wouldn't pass this up too quickly. My next Compaction scope is going to be the Hawke Model 17410 FFP 4-16x50 Scope. Next year I'll do a review on that one too. I'm not selling my Athlon. I'm just moving to my TX200 .22 HC for backyard squires or windy day competitions. I only use Sports Match 2 piece non adjustable High Scope Rings. They have not moved at all in the last year when I installed them. Very trustworthy rings.
