Recommend me a rifle...pls

Thanks for the responses so far. It seems that RWS and Weihrauch are the way to go. Browsing through the Krale website I stumbled upon the HW77 SE . That pretty much ticks all of the boxes for me. I'm a sucker for laminate. I'm super glad I got involved with this forum. Keep the suggestions coming...maybe someone can shake me out of the HW77 saddle. I'm currently funding a CZ452. As soon as that's in the mail, one of these will be heading my way. Thanks again...you people are awesome.

Which cz452? I have an ultralux and Varmit in 22 and an older 452 (I think American) 17hmr. Cz are fantastic, but I must warn you.... if you get into nicer air rifles you won’t shoot them near as much. My fix streamline with sumo is now my go to 100yrds or less gun. I have stopped buying powder burners....

I'm picking up the CZ452 American in 22lr. They were getting scarce for a while so I want to acquire one while they are available. I wouldn't mind having the varmit in 17hmr.

Oh, man. I'd love to have a 527 in 6.5 grendel. It's on my list...just not the first one. (But seriously...I have a list...don't tell my wife.)

I’ve got 527s in 204 varmit kevlar and 223 varmit grey lam. My 550 is a 6.5x55 in the varmit Kevlar. I really should at least go clean them. Darn streamline taking up all my shooting time!

Gotta love the 6.5 Sweede. I was looking at the streamline on their website. How do you refill it? Hand / foot pump? If so, how long does it take to recharge? Nevermind. I just watched a video explaining it. I have much to learn.

I have a hill mk4 hand pump. Takes about 5min from 120ish bar to 230bar. I also have an air Venturi nomad, takes about 2-3 min. What distance are you wanting to shoot? I’ve consistently hit a golf ball at 100yrds, but wish I would have gotten a 25 instead of 22 cal. I’m saving for a bullpup, either a vulcan2 or power tuned cricket from Georgia airguns. I have too many hobbies and not enough green! And a donnyfl makes it scary quiet.

This forum is fairly helpful with tons of nice people, what area you located? Someone may let you shoot, and most retailers willlet you try a gun.

Hi folks, first poster here. I'm very familiar with firearms, but I don't even know where to begin with air rifles. I've been shooting since I was a little kid (Red Ryder), but I have not kept pace with the airgun world since I purchased my last one in 1998. I'm not sure of the manufacturer, but I remember it being rated at 1000fps, .177cal. I still have it, and still shoot it. Anyhow, I am in the market for a new one. I would like to caliber-up to .22 or .25. I would like a "break action" style for cocking. I do not want to deal with refilling tanks. I would prefer wood. I would mount an optic. This will be used for pest control, mainly squirrels and rabbits around my house. My budget is flexible...I don't like buying the cheapest stuff, but I also don't want to ruin Christmas for the kids. I am thinking around $250-$400. If there is something just outside of that range that is significantly better, I wouldn't mind jumping up a little. I would purchase a decent optic separately. So, could anyone point me to a nice rifle that fits the bill? There is so much stuff out there that it's a little daunting to know where to start. Thanks folks.

I started off thinking of break barrels. In just one week after a lot of reading decided on PCPs . Now there is no turning back. Good luck.

I agree . The RWS 48 is a great springer. You do, however, need to put a decent scope on or you’ll be replacing an inferior scope quickly. I had good results with a Vortex Crossfire II 4-16x50 AO with Dead-Hold BDC Reticle.

Striven, you are 2 hours from a field target club. It would be well worht your time to make contact then attend a shoot - or just get together with folks-.

You WILL come out way ahead in all regards if you can get with some others face toi face.
