Hello everyone,
I rebuilt my two vertical Target Frames to make it work a bit better. I built an inverted “U” with some 1" x 1" x 1/8" steel angle, when welded to the backing plate it leaves the bottom open. See the photos: with the angle turned inward it creates a stop point for the “pellet splatter” and also prevents the splatter from ricocheting back on to the cardboard and damaging the paper target. Next I added four two inch long 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 x 18 angle at each corner turned out to accept the Clamps that hold the cardboard on.
I buy flat cardboard sheets that are 24" x 36" and I cut them into six 12" x 12" squares to use as the backing for the paper targets. This new arrangement makes it really simple, fast and easy to add or change Targets.
