I was perusing the Daystate PDF catalog on their site and saw a picture of one of their rifles with a flip up scope cap with a rectangular window cut in it. Have not seen that before. Anyone know what the purpose is ?

If I'm not mistaken, that window magnifies the elevation turret number so that they are more easily read, especially for old eyes like mine.

There's many covers that have clear cover lenses in them. For quick...target acquisition, no need to flip up the covers. I have two with clear lenses (cheap plastic) in them.
Just not seen a square one !
