Real Avid Master Gun Workstation

Since I have a scope on the way for my son's AR-15... aaaaaaand... I've been wanting one of these..... Arrived today.

Of course I popped the Marauder into it for this photo and this forum. Real Avid makes some neat stuff. Well designed. Not cheap. But not crazy expensive, either.

It should work nicely for maintenance, cleaning, scope mounting / leveling, etc.

All I've done so far is assemble it and put a couple of rifles in it. It feels pretty solid. It can be bolted to the table, but I won't likely do that. It can also be clamped to the table.

At $200, it's not cheap. But I think it's a fair bit nicer, more versatile, and more stable than the cheaper models out there.

Midway had the Tipton Best Gun Vice on sale with a free gunsmith screwdriver set. I read a few reviews and decided to get one. It’s a little better than holding it your lap. That one looks way sturdier, let us know how you like it.

@scubajeeper The Tipton’s Best Vise isn’t comparable to this Avid vise price or feature wise. Tipton’s Best should cost less than $100. For $193 I’d go for a Tipton Ultra gun vise and save some money. I got one on sale with a screwdriver set for way less than $193 (see the AGN link below). The Ultra has padded rubber vise clamps on both ends.

Tipton Ultra Gun Vise + Wheeler Tool Kit ($129) @ Midway USA

Saw this deal and it was good enough to buy. The price for the vise alone was comparable to a couple of other vendors, but I can always use more tools. Anyone use one of these? If so how do you rate the value for the price point...
