Real Alkin's, & copies. Beware

The REAL Alkin Compressor. Built by The Company that The US Navy uses. The Company that donated compressors to The Thai Rescue Diving Team.

Any link that mentions "Airtex", "Airetex", or is a dead end, not secure, etc. isn't the original company.

I was looking up The Real Alkin, as I'm waiting on inventory.

I apologize to the guys that wanted to come get fills & see this beast in action. Hopefully soon!

I myself clicked on the wrong link, and thought I better clarify this for others, as it's been an ongoing problem.

I’m not sure what your issue is? What are we supposed to beware of? The AireTex isn’t an Alkin, but then neither is a Coltri or a Bauer... Additionally, my VW is not a Mercedes... Please explain your post???

PS., the AireTex is not a copy of the Alkin. It is a copy of the Bauer Junior II.

PPS., perhaps some minor parts of the Navy use the Alkin, I can neither confirm nor deny that. Saying “built by the company that the Navy uses” could be misleading, since generally the Navy Dive Teams and Commands with Divers use Bauer Compressors (fact). Also, I work with the Navy SEALs, and we use Bauer Compressors (fact). And if I remember correctly, US Submarines use Worthington Compressors.

Until a few years ago Airetex imported Alkin manufactured compressor heads that Airetex had the factory build to them They were never fakes, just Alkins built to Airetex specifications.

Today Airetex sells Mini Magnum models that are based upon the Bauer Junior II. Airetex no longer sells any Alkin based models. I think some confusion has arisen because some obsolete Airtex/Alkin links still exist on the internet.

A number of AGN forum members own the current Airetex Mini Magnum compressor and all are happy with it. Bruce Dodson who owns Airetex has always given excellent service to his clients I've never heard of a single complaint from one of his customers. He knows more about compressors than any hobbyist does. He was the original dealer to sell quality compressors to the PCP market 20 years ago when the market was much smaller than today. Bruce Dodson is to PCP compressors what Doc Beeman is to air rifles. Both are pioneers and visionaries.

Only issue I am telling folks to be aware of is as follows.

Older Alkin's aren't the same as newer Alkin's, due to one being designed by Alkin. The other design was developed by The Company Airetex, was Airtex, was in partnership with Alkin.
The old dead links can be confusing.
I'm not here to bash anyone. Just pointing out the main difference is stockpile of parts in New Jersey don't fit the older Alkin/AirTex, now Airetex.
