Thanks for the input. Maybe I should just pull the cover off the unit and mount the switch in some fashion. That way the fan can blow across the motor, head, and the radiator. That's provided the fan designed in the housing doesn't move as much air as the box fan.Look great, but don’t overlook the motor windings for cooling, the motor can saturate with heat quickly and toast the winding insulation.
I thought about making a shroud that would neck down that 20" fan to basically blow only across the compressor.I actually used a 6” duct booster fan on the motor. The impeller on my YH had no pitch, and I had smelled the smell of hot motor when filling. My booster fan was probably overkill, but I already had it.
