RAW Rapid RAW’s crazy regulator

I was out shooting my RAW HM1000X LRT today practicing in some crazy 100Y wind conditions. I decided to run a shot string over my crono and was amazed how consistently this reg performed. CRAZY? Yep, Crazy good that is! My hats off to you Texan guys building some great guns!

Yes indeed! Great guns and great folks!

Gotta add one thing...I am so pleased I can pick up this air rifle and just shoot it without constant "tuning" to try to maintain consistency. I now own two LRT's. Picked the .30 cal. up the other day after not shooting it for about weeks and it was dead on - no air pressure loss and shooting like it was three weeks before.

Regulators are typically not responsible for good velocity spreads. Lots of hammer strike is who to thank. If you turn the gun down off the plateau....you will find that your spreads will increase....but your air usage and noise.will decrease.

Mike
Thanks for the tip Mike. I’ll try that.

If you notice the ES increases, remove the action from the stock, remove the Hammer Spring adjuster, the spring and the hammer. Then wipe out the action with a lint free cloth to remove any grease or debris buildup. Add a couple of drops of light oil to your fingers and rub them on the hammer. You only want a very thin film on the hammer. Excess oil will create drag and velocity variations.

To remove the hammer from a RAW, you must remove the 2 pins retaining the trigger block and then the trigger block, then the hammer slides right out. Or you can make a tool out of a paper clip that has a tiny right angle bend to the tip to reach up through the trigger block and hold down the sear while pulling the hammer out with your finger.

And they look like jewels!
