RAW vs Daystate

To add or replace?

Much harder decision if you're planning on replacing the RAW. Any new gun, even a Red wolf, runs the risk of not being quite what you hoped when compared to what you've given up for it. That may go double for a RAW that is among the top airguns out there, although only you really know it's true performance and how much you might miss it.

If however, you're planning on adding the RW, I'd say dive in head first, blindfolded and with your hands tied behind your back 😂 They are truly spectacular guns and worth every penny.

I know how you feel!, I have a couple RAW’s and absolutely love them, they are heavy duty, well engineered, robust, solid, very accurate!, and they are dependable! Ok enough... but a good friend just bought a Daystate R.W. HP in .22 and I shot it for the first time 2-weeks ago, all I can say is WOW! I love it, some day I Will own one🙏🏻 Not quite as substantial in your hands, but beautiful... and smooth! Hopefully a Thomas in my future also🙏🏻, but the red wolf would not be for Competition, the others are or will be!

I recently bought, and returned, a Red Wolf HP. It is a marvelous rifle, but my uses simply aren't consistent with the HP advantages; i.e., heavy pellet, long distance shooting. It was an impulse buy on my part, not thought out. But, since you are already into high power with your RAW, you know what you would be getting, no surprises. The instant adjustability of power levels in the Red Wolf is impressive, and mine was deadly accurate at all power levels with the JSB Monster 25 gr pellets. This was my first experience with an electronic trigger, and it is.... different, very good, but different. You are essentially pressing a switch, and while I'm sure the lock time is shorter than a mechanical trigger, it doesn't have the same feel as a very good mechanical trigger, not a complaint, just something with which you will become accustomed. Lastly, this is not a back yard gun, you don't need the power, and it must be suppressed because it is loud, and that makes it a very long rifle. You say you are "torn", but over what? Are you considering trading or selling the RAW for the RW, or, is there another rifle in the mix? If just adding, then I'd say heck yeah, try the Red Wolf. But, being a RAW owner myself, I would not get rid of it for the Red Wolf.

AirGunShooter- I might use it for unsanctioned events?, but I mainly shoot 25m BR so no advantage there! It would mainly be for fun, and long range personal use on my property and of course to look at and drool over

Good to hear!

I used my .177 Red Wolf for numerous Field Target events this past summer season. It is great for this type of competition.
