RAW REPORT

Dear Friends,

What maximum fps do you achieve from your 60 ftlb HM1000x using 34 grain pellets by just adjusting the HST?

My HM1000X shoots 33.95 gr JSBs at 895 fps or 60.4 fpe. This is as received from the factory.and I've not monkeyed with it. I see no reason to push it faster than that because I'm more interested in accuracy than power. When it hits the target at my 55 yard range, it makes one helluva wallop. I've killed some big armadillos at that range too.

10 shots at 50 yd

Looks like every owner of RAW takes it as Holly Cow.

No one tinker with it. It is never an issue to turn hammer spring adjuster clockwise and do a chrony test and then unwind it to its initial position and chrony it.

Now I understand that when I upgraded my RAW guns, why some of members were surprised.

In the past Martin set up these guns for accuacy and set up for optimum fps for the ppellet. On my HM1000X 30 CAL and 357 I never bothered cranking in HST. THE GUNS shoot out if the box strong and accurate.

Martin even helped me out on my Theobens with extra parts and more. His operation and communication was always spot on. .

I had a slight issue with the 357 with a popping out if the report. I sent it to him and his repair and turn around was quick and fast. Simple fix. Allen had loosened on the probe setting. I sent a stock to him I had foolishly damaged. The work and return was as above. You could not see the repair even on a laminated stock.

Class act Raw is. So it seems the new RAW guns are now making more power and 2 stage triggers. The game has been upped and by this long thread still producing fine products. Congrates on keeping the true RAW name going. 1 fine pcp class act gun.

I agree with you for the past but now it is not as easy to talk to Martin as it was ever before.

It's TRUE that RAW guns are great out of box but still we can check the maximum power potential through adjustment of HST only.

Tapatalk is not user friendly otherwise I would post many things on your forum.

Hamster was acquired second hand but at best guess the "Mechanics" are a MAC-1, the knee block is custom made from wood with non skid on the bottom.

When gun was ordered had Martin install a rail so when the time came to need it ... had it.

I can't give any exacts because it has a totally different valve with a Cobra mod, super light hammer and an internal SSG devise in play.

But is running IIRC in about 110 bar.

Rifle had been for the 2017 & 2018 FT seasons set up as a Hunter class gun in .20 cal. To make the conversion easily flip between a 20 ft lb .20 and 12 ft lb .177 with minimal fuss engineered & set it up so ONLY the SSG ( Contain spring & stop guide ) required a swap along with barrel/s. When at .20 cal the gun on the 500 cc bottle was in around 200-220 shots and as a 12 ft lb gun likely in excess of 350. * Never tried or had to worry about air use.

Having worked in the R&D of both the SSG & Cobra valve tech & applied both the efficiency is pretty outstanding.

@Motorhead - that's a nice setup! There must have been some work put into that. Very nice, indeed.

I'm going to want to install a small attachment point for a rail on the LRT stock, to support an adjustable Atlas monopod (and possibly a sling swivel). I was watching a video on YouTube, where IraqVeteran8888 was demonstrating an HMx, and the rifle he was using pretty much nailed what I'm planning to do:

Are any of you familiar with that rail? That looks to be a perfect fit, almost too perfect - which makes me think that it was cut down to size.

That is a prototype rail that we are looking at offering from the factory, it would be something that we could either install at the point of order or as an aftermarket accessory. It's not quite ready for production yet but we are getting close.

It looks pretty snazzy. M-Lok based? I'd love to get that exact rail base, I already have the monopod so I'll just have to see how my patience holds out.

Ok, I'm sort of confused! Received my .25 HMx today, and there's a fairly large gap between the mag / single shot trays and the action. Is this a normal feature?

I'm planning to use just the single shot trays for hand loading, a little concerned that I'm going to either lose them or wear them out pretty quickly as they seem to be just barely snug with the breach receiver nub.

I did buy two trays from RAW directly, does anyone know of anyone selling decent aftermarket trays?

Thanks :)
