RAW Purchase

Hello everyone,
I have been reading a lot of posts here and I have seen the if purchasing a RAW. Buy it directly from Martin. So I have put the call in and I am ready to “ pull the trigger “ on it. I have a few questions I would like to ask the shooting public.
First, do you all have any photos of you RAW? I am looking for the LRT 1000x style. In tan or the dark coffee / black stock, .25 caliber
Second, I want to use an aftermarket moderator, so I can try different ones and make it as quiet as possible. I would love some suggestions on which you all like.
Third, what bipod are you using?, I have had great luck with Harris bipods on my powder burners, but I haven’t seen them with the ability to fit the RAW rail system.
As I said in my phone message to Martin, I want the best, because as I told my wife this is my last airgun 😉 .
Thank you all in advance. Hope you all have an outstanding day
Aim small, miss small
Sincerely
Tackleberry

I've owned six different RAW rifles from .177 (2) to .30 cal. All made before the Airforce merger and all had walnut stocks. Most of these were custom built by Martin with the exception of 2 .22 models. You can't find a finer rifle. Since these do not have all the external adjustment knobs like some, you should decide what type of shooting you plan to do and what projectile and speed you are looking for. Mine was set up to shoot JSB 33.95 gr pellets at 895 fps. As you can see, it had an earlier offset moderater which worked ok, but not as silent as some would like. Compared to the new car muffler, I prefer the old one. The stock had an Anschutz type accessory rail and I found adapters that allowed you to mount most any bipod. I used and Accu Tac. I don't like the external springs of the Harris. The target shown is 10 shots at 100 yd. BTW, you lied to your wife, I fully understand. I've been there too.

Congratulations! I have one in .22.(Chassis).

Besides the unf 1/2 20, you should also ask for the biathlon style side lever and have Martin tune it to your specs plus trigger pull weight. Other than that, just enjoy shooting it! Mine is also pre Airforce, but it doesn't really matter as Airforce does most of the machine work for the breeches but Martin stil puts them together, hand selects each barrel and shoots/tunes each one. If you can find a DonnyFl Sumo, Alan Z, Neil Claigue or ODB would be my preference. Mine has the older conventional reflex moderator which is similar to Neil's, very quiet. I also have an Accutac PC4 bipod.

I have 2 HM1000x — both chassis models, one in 25 and one in 22. Both purchased after Airforce purchased them, but both assembled and tuned by Martin.

This is my 25 cal. I now have a March Hi Master 48 power scope on it and plan for an Eaglevision air stripper.

This was my target for record with my 22 cal HM1000x this morning. 25 yards benchrest.

I find it hard to believe he can get better results than 5.8mm outside to outside group of 5 shots 22cal with JSB Monster Redesigns weight sorted and head sized. Perhaps straight from tin the older ones are more consistent, but then years ago all JSBs were more consistent! But your results with 25 cal might be different. I'm shooting the MKII 34 grainers in my 25.

Spoke to Martin this afternoon, and ordered my gun. Very excited!!
Martin said he has better more accurate results with the older JSB .25 cal than the new improved JSB MKII .25cal pellets.
So what are you all shooting and what FPS.
Thank you all again for your help. I’ll post some pictures when I get her set up.
CONGRATULATIONS! As far as tuning, Martin does shoot and test each one to find the best combo of speed & accuracy @ 50 & 100yds....might want to have him tell you his findings with yours as each one will probably be ever so slightly different.
