Raw or Crown.. I'm not sure which to go for

"GoGoJuice"Sorry.. Missed a couple of messages.
Yes the impact is allowed into Canada. The reason is that we're not allowed to have a separate stock that attaches to a firearm...which is to say that if you can remove the stock and still have a functioning firearm it's prohibited.
I'm going to wait until completion of shot show prior to making any firm decisions.
So.. as of today... I have 3 in the running... (all .25cal)
1. fx crown
2. Daystate Wolverine 2 Hi-Lite
3. FX Royale 500.
The crown and the Daystate are the same price. The Royale is about $600 - $800 difference depending on stock options.
So.. my questions relate around a few questions I can't find answers for from real life users.
1. What are the differences between the FX crown and Royale 500 *not the 400*
2. How would the daystate compare with these two? I can read the tech specs.... but do they relate to real world results?
Ie., similar to daystate MCT vs FX crown video posted earlier.
Appreciate the help in choosing.
Cheers
Differences between the Crown and Royale are the Crown has the Smooth Twist X barrel which allows you to eventually change liners for twist rates in the future, also the ability to change calibers with a 500$ USD kit. The Crown has Transfer port, hammer spring and regulator adjustment on the outside via knobs. The Royale has all these adjustments too but requires a bit more work. I can change the reg pressure in about 2 minutes (Royale), once its set its not something you need to change often. The transfer port has more adjustability on the Crown the Royale only has 2 positions, the hammer spring has endless adjustment on the Royale and can be done in 1 minute by removing the stock from action and turning the tensioner in or out. They both have the same power stock and both have the ability to improve that. Where the magazines go in is angled on the Crown so it allows the shooter to use lower scope rings I believe.

Accuracy is negligible I think, I've had several sub MOA groups at 100m and one at .56 MOA with the Royale. The Crown is still very new so with more people getting them maybe the difference will really shine. I think the Royale stocks are nicer (except the green laminate) they got rid of the beautiful rosewood butt piece with FX engraved in it with the Crown. However they did add an adjustable comb and the tilting shoulder piece which the Royale doesn't have.

The Royale ships with the aluminum bottle which is about 1lb heavier than the CF bottle. There might be some things I'm missing but this is off the top of my head.

If you want to get a RAW pm NLlaw he's an East coast guy that has a RAW and can give you advice if you wanted to get one of those.

"Glem.Chally"Noise should be similar as we can't have moderators here. I got my Royale from Airgun source you can get 60 FPE out of a Royale as well and prices have dropped a bit for them as I imagine the Crown will be there soon. Either would be a great gun, the RAW is definitely heavier.
Are all moderators against the law or just the ones that screw on the end of the barrel? The reason being the government regulators who don’t always know their guns may only want to make sure you can’t transfer the moderator from a Air rifle to a powder burner.

As far as I know...

Silencers (and all devices meant to muffle the sound of a gun) are classified as a prohibited device in Canada. This does not necessarily mean that they cannot be used, but a license is required for use.

Clem.Chally. Thank you for your comparison. This will be my "first" air gun. Do you think that the crown would be more user friendly for someone who doesn't know the in and outs of airguns since a number of adjustments can be made without going 'under the hood' and through wheels / dials on the crown?

Yeah like for example I haven't seen any of the Hatsan line with the QE system up here for sale.

Yeah the Royale was my first PCP as well. I'm a tinkerer so no matter how good it is I want to tweak it a bit, the adjustments I made were to shoot the 34gr JSBs faster. Either one would be easy to adjust, the Royale might be simpler to work on as you can basically take one down to nothing and replace all o-rings in 30 minutes. But I have no experience with the Crown, a big question is do you want the possibility of changing calibers down the road? Would you buy additional barrel liners?

The trigger on both is fantastic and easy to adjust and they make the same power out of the box. (from what I've seen)
