RAW HM1000x Regulator Tuning Question

To test both pellets and slugs of varying weights it is likely that certain slugs will need more pressure, some pellets less than is obtainable simply by adjusting the hammer spring.

To avoid the tedious task of adjusting the regulator and then placing the action back into the stock, what about the idea of adjusting the regulator to its maximum pressure and the controlling the pressure in the bottle (below the regulator maximum setting) with a regulator between the tank and gun. This way you can test pellets and slugs with a constant pressure and make fine adjustments with the hammer spring while the action is locked in a vise. You can test for velocity nodes and precision.

Once the optimum pressure and hammer adjustment is found, what is the best way to verify the hose pressure from the output hose from the regulator and the output pressure from the regulator in the gun? Is there a tester to do this?

Once it drops below the reg pressure setting in the gun you would be able to read gauge pressure on your bottle but the problem is you still need a gauge and adapter to screw into the bottom of the gun to set the regulator I would take the plug out on the bottom of the gun and take the plug to a hydraulic store so you can get the correct adapter and a good gauge to read regulator pressure that is what I did found out the plug was British threads I don't remember the size though. The plug I'm talking about is just behind the regulator on the bottom of the action remove the bottle and drain pressure in the action to before hand plug is basically in the bottom of the plenum

As said above. My .22's reg came set @ 140 bar from the factory, I'm guessing your .30 should be 150-160 so HS may be all you'll need to adjust. Bhaur makes a 70cc additional plenum that fits where the blanking pulg is if you want to mod for more power down the line and a SSG hammer debounce device, but you'll need to drill a hole in the stock to fit the plenum. Big power gains from his mods as well as efficiency and a more quiet report (quicker valve closing) FYI. When testing slugs, the ones that fit snuggly into your breech should shoot the most accurately (spin stabilized).

On my Raw HM1000x I was lucky enough to record and idiot mark everything before I touched it. I also wanted to shot slugs as here in West Texas our normal wind speeds are in the 12mph.

The Raw comes perfectly tuned and after I tinker with it I find out that I should just leave it the way it came so I put everything the way it was and got my SD and ES back how it was.

I found that it I just moved the hammer spring to give me a little more speed I ended up with my 25 cal NSA 33.5 at 896 and the MK II at 902 which is just perfect for me.

How do the bottles install on the HM? Do they have a valve like a FX or what?
Yes if it's a HMx or HM, just un-screw them, they do have a valve but do make a loud pop releasing some air. Sometimes this messes up the bottles o'ring but not always so have spare bottle o'rings on hand to replace (use a little silicone grease on) said o'ring.
