I just ordered a Raw hm1000x LRT in 25 caliber and I was wondering is there anything different I have to do to break in the polygon Barrel? Does it take more or less pellets through it to break it in? Thanks in advance for any help.

I think the answer is always the same, it depends on the individual barrel. Poly barrels were originally designed around jacketed bullets, and many people say they lead foul more quickly than traditionally rifled barrels. That may be, or, it may be that the lead fouling simply affects accuracy quicker due to the increased contact area in the bore, kinda the same thing I guess. I've owned only one air rifle with a poly barrel, but, due to other issues, did not keep the rifle long enough for a fair test. I can only say that during the initial 200 or so rounds, that barrel needed cleaning more frequently than my other barrels.

I cannot speak for .25 only .30 but very little break in, they are just outstanding out of the box. I would just say shoot a tin through it without worrying about chrony or groups too much then work on fine tuning it. You will be happy with your purchase!!
