RAW Rapid RAW HM1000X & BM500X trying to make hammers interchangeable. Need advice (pics included)

Dear friends,

I disassembled BM500X and found that it has a different hammer as compared to HM1000X.

Pics below;

On right side, there is the hammer of HM1000X and on left side is the hammer of BM500X.

Following are comperative pics of hammers length.

You can see that the lengths of both hammers are almost similar.

Following is dia of hammers

The dia of HM1000X is around 4mm larger than that of BM500X.

All other dimensions of hammers seems to have only such differences that except the OD of the hammer, both hammers can be used in both guns interchangeably.

Now comes the tricky part / problem caused by larger dia of HM1000X hammer.

If you see the above two pics carefully, you will understand that the hammer of less dia goes all the way into the hammer cavity as the two notches on both sides do not touch the hammer due to its reduced dia.

While in the upper pic I have highlighted the two notches which touch the shoulder of the larger dia hammer and do not allow the larger hammer insert into the hammer cavity.

Due to this issue when I try to insert both the hammers one by one into the hammer cavity, the result is as shown in following pics.

One can understand that in the 2nd pic I have inserted the larger hammer and due to its larger dia it could not go all the way in, hence the distance from the edge of the hammer to the block is around 17.98mm.

While in the 1st pic the smaller dia hammer has been inserted and it went all the way in. That is why the distance from the edge of hammer to the action is around 27.28mm.

Now I need to know if only these two notches are creating this problem, and the internal cavity of the block is capable of accepting larger dia if notches of the action are removed. Or the internal dia of hammer cavity after the removal of notches will also need to be enlarged to accept the larger hammer.

If I need to remove the notches only, it will be an easy solution.

I have seen that the regulator and valve of BM500X and HM1000X are identical and interchangeable.

Hence the only main difference is that HM1000X hammer doesn't enter the hammer cavity of BM500X.

Please advise the fix.

I have tried to explain the matter in as much clarity as I can.

Specially the tuners like Motorhead and others who extensively work on these guns might chime in with the right solution.

Regards,

Bhaur
