Tuning RAW HM1000X and Huma 1174 adjustable regulator problems

Just talked to Martin. The newer models don't need the plug as ghetto machining abilities have improved, and they don't need a blanking plug.

This is correct. AirForce uses 5-axis machines that Martin didn't have when making them. In addition, the air chamber inside the action has more volume than earlier rifles, the action is ambidextrous, and you don't have to remove the trigger and hammer to remove the bolt.

I think someone may be working on a regulator tester for the HM1000X actions. I just bought the Best Fittings ones and modified one to use on the latest large regulator thread size.

effectively took place when they had a thread change on the regs.

Are you saying they further enlarged the plenum when the blanking plug was removed?

What’s wrong with the factory RAW regulator? I’ve had 7 RAW rifles and had no problems with any of them. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

I don’t think it’s a performance issue. The Huma takes up a bit less plenum volume and allows adjustment by removing the bottle only so that should make tuning easier.

Hi everyone. A few weeks ago I bought the Huma regulator for the RAW HM1000X. Today (yes, today...) I realized that the Huma regulator only comes with the brass seal for threading... Is it supposed not to need a piston or Belleville washers? Or do I need to get those separately? Should I just screw the new regulator into the block and then the block onto the bottle? Thanks.
