The butt stock on my Chassis gun was loose when I received it (purchased used, through a dealer). Apparently neither the dealer nor the previous owner had an AR Armorer's Wrench, as the castle nut at the base of the buffer tube just needed tightening.
The butt, which is adjustable for LOP, can also be loose, but there is also a thumbscrew which you can tighten. When tightened the LOP is not quickly adjustable (you have to loosen the thumbscrew first), but then the whole stock is more rigid/tight/solid. The cheek piece is pretty solid as well. All in all, the OEM buttstock on the RAW Chassis gun which I had was a good design, was highly adjustable and was solid.
I don't know whether different ones are available from RAW. This is the one I had:
Keahi now owns it. After conversations and purchases from Mikelo123 and Neil Clague, my chassis RAW went from this:
To this:
And since I don't take it out in the field or walk & stalk with it, I prefer it in the laminate clothing (and the NC moderator is fantastic - not just quieter but actually
quiet). I have also found that I am personally more accurate off the bench with the wood stocked RAWs.
EDIT: I haven't shot my RAW .25 all that much (I have too many guns

), and I think that I only shot it once in my back yard in the configuration of laminate stock + OEM offset moderator. But I feel that since I have shot it a couple of times with the lam stock
and the Neil Clague moderator, that this is its most accurate configuration. I don't have target boards which I can show and compare, but on my last shooting session with the gun in its current (and final, for me) configuration, I was pretty easily shooting MOA (0.6" 5-shot groups at the extent of my back yard range which is 61 yards). At this point that is the best that I (the shooter) am capable of. And I wasn't getting that performance out of the shooter/gun configuration with the chassis stock configuration, nor on the single session where I shot the gun with the OEM offset moderator and the laminate stock.
So it is at least my personal feeling that the Neil Clague moderator is not only better looking and more effective than the OEM RAW offset moderator, but that it also improves the accuracy of the gun. Who could ask for more?
