RAW .25 HM1000x LRT 50yrds and 100yrds

Today I took my RAW out to the range. I've been waiting for over a week to shoot it. I only have a 20 yard range at my house, so I was waiting to bring it to my shooting club. It rained pretty hard here the past few days, but it stopped this morning. So off to the range I went. This is the first time I've shot this rifle. I purchased it from Ken Hicks at SPAW, and it was fully setup and tuned by him. I did absolutely nothing to the rifle besides put some air in it. I wanted to spend today just getting aquatinted with the rifle. I spent the first few hours shooting from 50 yards. There was a little wind, but I don't think that affected much at this distance. I was able to get some pretty solid groups at 50 yards, and get a better feel of the rifle. Ken did a fantastic job setting up the trigger for me. It's really light and predictable. I was using JSB King Heavy 33.95 straight from the tin. I was pretty excited by one of my 5 shot groups. I even sent Ken a text lol. He told me to stretch it out more, so I went to the 100 yard range. I've never shot an air rifle beyond 50 yards, so this is a first for me. Once I setup the target down range the wind started to pick up, but it wasn't too bad. My first 10 shots were a bit low, but I was more worried about grouping. After about 50 shots on the 100 yard range I felt comfortable with the rifle, and shot some pretty decent groups. I still need more time behind the rifle to get used to it, and I'm sure the more I get to know it the better my shooting will get. Here are a few pictures I took. I was having so much fun I forgot to take more lol. The below were some of the best 5 shot groups. I didn't record the environment conditions this time. I was more focused on just having some fun, and getting the feel of the rifle this time.

@2manyAirGunz Thanks. Yes, I was an expert rifleman, but not always. I had the pizza box coming out of bootcamp.

Likewise for me. I only earned "Marksman" in basic training, however I improved to "Sharpshooter" in Okinawa -- barely missed "Expert".

The 25 cal polyhex barrel does like the NSA slugs.

I love the colors of the RAW stocks.

That's a good bit of wind. I would have been all over the target. I seen some other pictures of people shooting slugs out of their RAW, and doing well with them. I will have to give them a try at some point.

Beautiful guns, great shooting but I want to say.

If Ken tuned it for a certain projectile try that one for best accuracy. I had an AZ Rapid .22 that literally shot entire sting under a quarter at 100 yards in no wind with CPHP’s from tin. Many 5 shot groups under a dime. It wasn’t even regulated. JSB 15-18.1 retained a flatter trajectory past 100 yards by far.

I believe you have a .25 but the .22’s come in 25.43 & 34.95 also.

Remember LW is choked from RAW. Chamber depth cut for JSB. For best slug shooting barrel would need some work or replacement. A certain slug may do very well. I know RAW can shoot better with an experienced Marine using it. 

I wish these swaged & cast slugs, pellets for that matter all came with full specs. Length & engagement are pretty important. I can use micrometers & depth gauge but I don’t like buy & try every type. Good luck & nice rifle.

@JamesD. yep, this the the .25 version. Ken tuned it for the JSB King Heavy 33.95, and I don't plan on touching anything on the rifle. Well the only thing I will be touching is the cheek rest lol, seriously though that's it. This thing is turn key ready.

I almost bought that gun from Ken when he got it in(or another exactly like it). I had been talking to him, was waiting for him to tune it and get it ready for sale when the Impact MKII's came available for sale and were ready to ship...having one ready to go was all it took for me to go with the FX. I had a hard time deciding between the two, going back and forth between them for weeks before I bought the Impact. I love my Impact but I'm also a little jealous of your awesome gun too! That is such a stunning, beautiful gun, I love the new design and the accuracy is fantastic! I hope you really enjoy it, she's a beauty.

At what speed

Are you shooting the 34 grain heavy's ? If so at what speed ? My .25 raw shoots hole through hole at 25 yards but when stretched out to 65 yards it shot horrible.
