Rattlesnake

My wife nearly stepped on this rattler in her garden. I grabbed the most available gun I had at that time. The snake wasn't going to wait for me to open my safe. Tomorrow I'll try to drag him out of the bush to get better photos. They are dangerous dead or alive.

Yep. Pin the head down with a rock or 2x4..cut it off and bury it where a person won't step on it and a pet won't dig it up. That skin would make a great hat band or think how cool it would look stretched over a carbon bottle..just saying. ;-)

My brother and I were out hiking. He almost stepped on one not quite that large. We cut off the head and buried it. My brother then triumphantly picked up the headless body at the mid-section and the "reflexes" in the snake flipped the headless stump around and left a blood mark on his hand. LOL. He dropped it like a hot potato and almost soiled his pants.

And Yo..After you skin and gut them. Coil them up. Wrap in tin foil with a little butter and your favorite seasoning. Grill till done (your wife will not likely let you use the oven). Tastes like chicken..LOL.

Western Diamondback? There will be a white stripe that extends from the eye to the mouth. If that was a Mojave, then you and your wife were really lucky.
