Western Airguns Rattler 357 and 45

Nice. I ask because mr hollow point's video shows it making 300fpe with 150gr... I don't know what's going on but either my gun or my chrono are very different from his.
I had watched his video too before I got my Rattler, I thought I had a performance problem because I only have 820 fps with 150 grains and 160-bar regulator
After reading the forum I understood that there was a lie somewhere.

Thanks guys, I don't need "backyard" but I do like quiet. After my pcp's, and .22lr and 300blk suppressed its hard to shoot anything too loud and enjoy it.

I asked the neighbors that I do like what it sounds like since I shoot a few hundred rounds a day into steel - they all told me they just think I'm banging pots and pans, and what the fck is wrong with me I'm banging pots and pans all day

They are nice guns! How loud ( or quiet) would you say they are? Almost backyard friendly? Hard to tell from the videos.
i run my rattler at 190bar and about 23 clicks on the power wheel. it cracks at 117dB 270FPE its really loud if its not properly tuned it was around 122dB. i also drilled around 90, 1mm holes in the shroud and suppressor

@caliusoptimus Did you also change barrels?
Yep. I have a 36" 1-20" twist and the stock 28" 1-26" twist. The setup is the same aside from the length of the tube.

This is the stock barrel.

@caliusoptimus What is your reason for increasing the twist rate?
At first I didn't have one. Just got a few blanks in both twist rates to see what happens. Now that I've played with it a bunch, I don't think the rattler needs a 20 twist. The 26 has stabilized every slug I've tried.

One of my other projects slings 357 slugs over 350fpe... and my long boat tail slugs absolutely need 1-20 twist to stabilize at those speeds.

Out of curiosity..What is the minimum FPE everyone is comfortable with when going after say white tail or big boar (175lbs+)?I feel like 300-350 will get the job done with good shot placement. Is there really a need for 600-800fpe or is it just more humane and assuring?Heck Keith Warren was taking out big bucks with his 220fpe dragon claw no problem 10 years ago! Going on my first hog hunt soon, was just curious what everyone’s thought were.
Me too, going in a week, taking 357 rattler

Anyone have some concrete info on the new rattler 45? I ask because I have a deposit down on a 357 and just found out the 45 is coming.... would be a total bummer if I buy the 357 and the 45 makes more energy and similar shot count.

Side question: any idea if there's a way to make the rattler handle 300bar in the tank?
I have the 357 taking it hog hunting thus week, yeah I want the 45 too lol long strike
