Rats shoot with my HW100 and Pard008LRF

@FLgunner. Hopefully the coyotes don't choke on them rats, lol. I was quite lucky to obtain this permission. This farm is too heavily infested and this will be on going unless they take more drastic measure to poison or other means of getting rid of them. I can only take out any many as I could with each visit. But all good as I wouldn't be running out of targets any time soon. Thanks for watching.

@Max115 Enjoyed this one as usual. I was wondering what was going on with your shot at first. I really like how you are able to adjust your shots on the fly in the field using IR. I liked the double kill. I didn’t even see that coming.

Do you ever re-shoot some of the same rats while scanning an area where they’re coming out into the open in groups? It seems like it can get confusing at times since the eyes of the dead ones still reflect IR light.

@Ezana4CE. Thank you. I didn't check my zero again as I was late arriving at the permission that night. Always a good idea to check zero before each shoot to make sure everything is working properly and not miss any oppurtunity from the get go. Luckily it was pretty quick to adjust on the fly. Double IR setup is much better to obtain brighter and clearer video footages. I was shooting from the driver side window with my gun resting on the door so the extra weight was not a problem especially with the tank of a built of the HW100.

I normally wouldn't shoot the dead one again unless I need to recheck my zero. But sometimes I would miss one if it didn't move while I scan across with my NV. I would have shot more rats if I didn't have to deal with the recording as that takes extra seconds or two to press and record while trying to zoom and focus the lens. And I didn't want to keep the recording on the whole time in order to preserve battery life and editing time later.

ps. hows your coyote hunt going?

@max115 I would probably shoot some dead ones out of excitement and confusion once the rats get stirred up. When you turned on the second IR light I didn’t notice much of a difference on video. I rewound that part a couple of times to see if I could tell. It may have just been my eyes. I’m pretty sure it’s very helpful when looking through a Pard. I bet you do miss shot opportunities trying to record that’s the sacrifice you make for us, lol. Thanks for sharing

I’ll PM you about the yotes.
