"LuckyStrike"Can I join in?? New here and mainly because of my .22 FX Streamline, but this from today using my .177 Crosman pump (8 pumps) at about 10 yards...... This muther jumped and ran about 10 feet, squeaked and end of this story! Looks like a lung/heart shot and pellet went right through.

Just busted some with my Wolf and Wildcat combo. 34gr 50ft/lbs at muzzle 830 fps. Just cause I don't want any suffering.

Saw this big bastard in broad daylight looks like he was digging near the bird feeder. Instant lights out with a .22 ultra shock heavy 25.4

Nice rat! I will give mine a break and coon hunt tonight. My trail cam showed about nine in one pic long after a left.

I will let them eat well, but there days are numbered! I have shot 11" /27.9 cm rats last year, so I will weed out the new crop and wait out the big boys. I don't measure tails.

Glem. Looks like I may be doing a little ratting myself here. Will post if I get anything worthy. In the meantime, I have a question: Would a green light bulb in the area of interest work? Meaning, not a flashlight on the gun, rather a bulb illuminating the area. Thanks!

Well, got me a big fat one at dusk. I humbly submit my entry. .22 Cal Cricket Mini Carbine at 30 yards. 

It was approaching from above, I aimed behind the head, but it pulled away at the last second and the pellet got her right between the eyes. Almost missed the shot. Very very skittish.

I personally haven't tried that but I bet it would work. Worth a try forsure!

@monkeyshine Yeah there is a bunch of them holed up in my shed. I have put spring traps, glue traps, poison pellets. Nothing seems to touch them, except the 18gr JSBs.  

@Glem.Chally Got the light setup today. Gonna give it a go tonight.

 Never waste a good rat with poison he must always get lead poison. glem as it turns out lots of fellows i hunt with use Royals. intensity good luck with the lights for your rat hunt, if that method fails I fully recommend night vision I use nitesite but I'm sure any of it works well

LOL! I just want to get rid of them any which way. What kind of night vision do you use. I’m cheap AF, so was trying to minimize cost is all.

Finally had a chance to shoot some of these dirty vermin earlier tonight. I shot 3 but the pics show there's only 2. The first one I shot, he kept moving around and I guess I didn't get him in the right spot. He slowly stumbled away from my shooting position towards the street. I tried to follow him with my gun but they were neighbors around so I had to stop. Then this stray cat comes along and snatches the injured fella. True story lol. Here's the other two I shot.
