@flintsack, you are consistently deadly on those squirrels regardless of the gun you’re using at the moment. Maybe a little “mano a mano” is the only way they stand a chance against you.

Yes, this was a one shot kill. It is the rifle I keep ready for these opportunities. So I know it pretty well. Plus it has an absolutely exceptional trigger.
I actually had a clean miss on one yesterday. He was moving through the tree really fast, and I tried to catch him on a pause. It could very well be the same squirrel. There aren’t many around these days.

@Flintsack I figured it was, but it's a little different hunting them this time of year because they seem to spend more time on the ground eating. Then they are moving much more through the trees and leaves are in the equation once again. I know "could very well be the same squirrel" suspicion. I've been seeing one around breakfast time that's pretty much forcing my hand to take a similarly longer shot. Hopefully I'll have time to take a crack at it over the weekend. Good shooting as usual Mike.

Full disclosure, I just laser rangefindered the branch he was on. 52 yards, not 60.
I tend to over call my yardages by about 10%. I need to work on that. I get excited.
No leaves here yet. Very rare to get a second shot when you’re shooting at something with a springer. Especially around here where the squirrels are a bit afraid.

love it. i have an umarex fusion 2 with a red dot that lives next to my front door for these moments. its my most comfortable shot. great work.

When that rifle comes to my shoulder all the computations for holdover are already done automatically, it comes to my shoulder and it goes to the correct spot and it goes off. It’s pretty cool.

It sounds like a softball or baseball being hit well. I can’t compare to a PCP, because that’s totally silencer dependent.
There was a contest right at the beginning of Covid. Called the five can challenge. I decided to shoot it off hand. Here are three videos of me shooting off hand from 100 to about 35 yards.
The one where I start out at 100 yards and work my way in is a little long. But it’s kind of hard to do. Don’t try to watch it if you’re in a hurry it’s about two minutes long.
