Fire it ... nothing going to happen. Best practice to get into, soon as you start unscrewing the bottle and you get the blast of air, fire a shot w/o pellet .... DONE
You will hear action fire as normal followed with a long blast of air as plenum dump backwards threw the regulator.

ive heard some say shoot when the bottle is off the gun. but I believe that will break the gun as well

guys in this video the guy dry fires the gun with no air in the gun after the bottle is off. will this break the gun by dry fireing being completely devoid of air?

I hope this video doesn't encourage folks to dry fire without air, but as the maker clearly states, "you don't want to do this". I think his purpose was to demonstrate how the rifle vents air if the bottle pressure is shot down below reg setting, something I had not considered. When I adjusted my RAW regulator, I cracked the nut attaching the reg/bottle adapter to vent the plenum air. That process works the O ring, but I had rather risk an O ring than damage to the valve.
